Submitting a Claim to See the Results Immediately (Fill Button)

If a patient has multiple third parties, the claim is sent to the first third party listed in the Bill field. If the first third party does not cover all of the claim, you can then send it to the next third party. Any costs not covered by the patient's third parties must be paid by the patient, unless you choose to waive the costs.

When you press the Fill button, the prescription remains open in Rx Detail while the claim is sent to the third party. You cannot send any other claims from the same workstation until the claim returns from the third party.

Note: To send the claim in the background, use the Queue action button instead.

  1. Open a prescription in Rx Detail.

Note: PharmaClik Rx checks if the drug is eligible under the patient's first third party plan. If it is not eligible, the third party is removed from the Bill field. If you want, you can override the drug eligibility and send the claim to the ineligible third party.

  1. Press the Fill button. The claim is sent to the first third party in the Bill field.
  2. If you have set Prompt for Dialogue on Fill as a default pharmacy setting, the Dialogue window appears. Complete the Dialogue window and press OK.
  3. The Processing dialogue box appears. The current status should be S to indicate the claim is being sent to the third party. If the current status is Queued, press the Queue button in the Processing dialogue box to queue the claim, and check the status bar at the bottom of the screen to make sure THS is running.
  4. When the claim returns from the third party, the Third Party tab opens. You can now check the results of the claim submittal.
